When thinking about my journey to art education at MU, I began to see that it was not so much a path I was traveling on, but rather a cycle that I was living in and always a part of. I chose to make my paper for my project as I wanted it a certain shade of green and to include natural elements like grass and leaves for varying effects. The center of each paper is a plastic wrapper that I reused and drew on. Each page briefly describes a section of my life and the drawing in the center corresponds to time period. In reusing other materials, I have extended their life cycle in order to depict my own life cycle. My journey to becoming an art teacher has constantly been shaped by other art teachers and the seeds that have led me here were planted many years ago. I have grown as an artist throughout the years and continue to grow. Just as when trees mature and grow to be able to reproduce and bring more trees into the world, I am growing into a young art teacher who hopes to be able to help others grow in what they love and continue the cycle of bringing more people to love and appreciate art in their own way.
